About Me

Meet Lizzy.

A lifelong resident of the D.C. area, I began working in the darkroom in 2007 and found I was most at peace with a camera in hand. Looking through the lens allowed me to see the world in a new way, and analog processes forced me to slow down and shoot with more intentionality than a digital camera required.

By observing light, textures, shapes, and shadows in my daily life, I found a new appreciation for everything around me. I would frequently go on long walks with my camera, learning that there’s always an interesting image if you fight the right angle.

I won several local photography competitions in high school before attending MICA in 2011. I graduated from American University, where I studied Film & Media Arts.

In 2026, I became one of the founding members of a community darkroom at Red Dirt Studio, The Fix.
